Tonight is a Super moon The moon is at its nearest since 1992. According to Sky earlier it will be seen best in the east of the UK but it is pretty clear here
[Lancashire] at the moment Im not sure of the forecast in France

It's been cloudy here (La Vienne) for a couple of days but it is due to clear, and as I look outside it is clearing.

19.10 UK time is the best time to see it. Lovely & clear here in SE UK so will be out there looking.

The moon was so bright here (NZ) last night that it was as light as day. I have been enjoying the wonderful night skies -the stars seem so close and bright.
Someone here predicted another earthquake because of the influence of the moon.

It's looking nice here although can't say it looks a lot bigger.

Sorry, no photo as the street lights are in the way - but it is most impressive.

It is only a tiny bit bigger........it doesn't make it a different colour, though. :|

Still cloudy here.

It's beautiful out there tonight and that moon is big but I was glad to get in because the north-east wind is really chilly. The horse is fed, the goats and sheep are all there and chewing the cud contentedly, the two wee lambs have had their bottle, we're fed, the chickens and geese are shut up for the night, the dogs are fed and there's a football match on the telly.

So, I've just been up in the two floored but unfinished bedrooms in the extension and I've been sitting there with candles and LED lamps mucking about with light and colour and the moonlight in the rooms is lovely. :)

I thought of taking my camera but I had to carry a torch, a measuring tape a candle holder, a lighter and a led lamp and go up two ladders - so I chickened out.

Also, I'm not very good at night shots. :D

I have daylight photos but I don't want to spoil the moon thread.

It doesn't look HUGE, just now, but very very bright and SO white, even with the (village) street lights.

When it first came up and was still very low in the sky it really did look very big. Completely mesmerising, and I was driving back from picking up some pizzas with a girlfriend! Very beautiful.

Very bright here last night. The moon was casting shadows.

Shadows here too! Very beautiful and peaceful outside - odd how places look different in moonlight.

It was beautiful here too, but the photos are awful because there was too much light from the street lamps in the square.

There's another super moon tonight (well early hours ) Not as bright as the original in this thread ,but will apparently be worth seeing.
