This afternoon's on-off heavy rain kept me inside instead of outside placing all the pots I filled yesterday (having sheltered them under the summer jasmine last night). Idly googling I found myself on the Fnac site where I saw that The Who are in Toulouse on 14th June.
That's solved Fixit's birthday present then
(and I'm going too, of course, and a couple of friends!)

Enjoy it. The last time I saw The Who was at the Liverpool Empire, right at the front and it rocked. Twas about 18 months after this

I saw The Who at the Oval in 1971.
They were amazing.

Fixit was part of the Ents team at Reading Uni in 1971, when they booked The Who to play... they had to charge a whopping ONE POUND per ticket and squash 1,000 into the hall for the concert to break even. (elf'n'safety weren't so much of a worry in those days  )

Stop it. You're making me feel young! I spent most of 1971 being 2... 8-)

If you can catch one of the tour gigs DO so, the whole set is superb! It spans the history of the band, with some great video backdrop scenes.

Had a great night in Toulouse, v friendly ambience from the hot dog stalls through the bars and right to the end.
Stayed at the nearby aparthotel, Residhome Toulouse Occitania and can highly recommend that too.

Back down to earth I'm waiting for washing machine repair man :(
