Good luck. Seriously I wish you good luck. We did a vide grenier for Guide Dogs on 1st June (le lundi de Pentecote) and I can say that after several years at this event we won't do another because folk are so disagreable to the point of being rude even when you point out in English or in French that it's a charity stall.
OK so we 'made' 564€, but it took hours and hours to collect, sort, set up & sell....
Bon courage!!

Thanks Liz, this event is actually very well supported and last June they were able to donate 1338 euros to MSF and all the left over clothes went to the Croix Rouge.
Lynne and her band of helpers do really well with both the book and clothes sales, the donated clothes are extremely good and, over the years, a growing number of "devotees" come to perk up their wardrobes. French and British support it.

My only role is to post the ads for it and I know that some people who are now regulars read about it on either this or another forum.

I'm sorry your vide grenier didn't seem worth the effort, I know what you mean from when we've done them ourselves, some venues are much better than others. "Guide Dogs" should attract a following, I'd imagine most people would want to support the charity, maybe a sponsored dog walk, little dog show , pet photo service or pet portrait artist would fare better?

Thanks again for your good wishes, oh, and Come on you Yellows!!

In previous years we've made 800-1,000€ - with just 3 of us working on it.
I gave the unsold items to the folk who run the vide greniers for the Refuge Canine at Cahors. They agreed it gets harder every year to extract dosh this way.
