If you have a Word, Excel and, etc.. documents, the best way to display it on the board is as a .pdf file. Anybody can get the Adobe pdf reader for free and pdf files take up a lot less space than other file formats.

If you have Open Office the ability to create pdf files is built in. You can also download free utilities that look like a printer on Windows systems (PDFcreator for example) but actually create pdf files. In MS Office 2007 there is a free add on to do the same.

If you want to upload a file as an attachment use the 'upload attachment' tab below the post next to 'Options'

Any feedback is welcome.

OK. I'll try it out. If it works, you will find the last edition of our Municipal Bulletin that I produce/edit with a few of my conseiller colleagues. We produce it in May and November and I'm currently working on this May's edition.

A good test, but one I suggest might have too many images (not that I've looked) judging on the size of the file. Hate to think how big your Word file is as a PDF is normally much smaller.

It's a 28 page A4 document with plenty of photos and text. Depends on your connection for sure but it didn't take very long at all to load it to look at when I tried it.

Looks fine to me - took less than half a minute to download, and of course you can see how big it is before you start. Average download speed from our server is about 350KBps.

Took about half a minute for me as well.

Is it worth making the thread a stickie?

Even I can do it now. Sent an unfinsihed scrénario to someone but I think as an attatchment it was tooooo big and got nowhere. So, eventually I was able to télécharge openoffice and copied the scénario on to the document in openoffice. It came out different in that the spacing was not 100%. You should be able to look at a scénario and say «yep, that's x number of minutes» but if the spacing is not correct it won't work. So, now wait for comment from person who received scénario. It was 65 pages in original form, perhaps too heavy as a straightforward attatchment for an e-mail.
