And down here in the Gers they're very unhappy about the enforcement of the nitrate ban:
http://www.ladepeche.fr/article/2014/09 ... olere.html
in our local town, Mirande, they dumped manure outside the sub-prefecture and set fire to tyres etc, damaging property.
But they're still spreading pig manure around us.

Do they really think dumping manure, wanton vandalism and arson is the answer ? As for dumping food in the streets .....
Will this kind of action endear people to their cause ?

Meanwhile plod was careful to be fully occupied elsewhere, probably annoying law-abiding motorists....

Well here in Brittany it certainly works and the rest of the people just shrug and get on with their lives. One thing life has taught me, we are supposedly equal, yet some believe they are of a higher being and so chose what we must obey and they believe we must all obey it blindly. Talking has only a minimal lifespan and soon enough those higher folks will say we have listened but we have made the rules and you will obey them.

Yes those people were voted in by some of the people, that does not mean that senseless regulations must be mindlessly obeyed.

Step up the Bretons....

The 90's were very good years for a little bit of protesting by the fishermen, farmers, rail workers, refuse collectors, and students, in Bretagne

The N12 by the airport heading towards St Brieuc

The prefecture St Brieuc

This though was a case too far.

This part of the fisherman's grievance back in 1994 was way out of order and sadly it all got out of hand. This very much affected their own people and not just for the people of Rennes but all of Brittany but this is the power of the working people in Brittany.

They've been busy keeping an eye on the pikey campsite here. Not bothering us at all!

They went too far with the arson, there was damage to the Music College opposite the sub- prefecture.
But what are they supposed to do with their cow - s--t? the cattle farmers here have mountains of it in their yards. Earlier in the year some farmers piled it up at the the roadside with a notice "take what you want."
We took some.
