If I won the lotto I'd buy this!

It's a great shame that it's been rotting for so long. By the time all the squabbles are resolved, it might not be worth restoring...

It's only just down the road from here. We go to Concarneau so often I can't believe I didn't know it was there. The last time I saw Calypso, she was at La Rochelle.

They cannot let this rot. :((

I'd forgotton about this! We visited Le Calypso on several occasions last year. It's looking sorry for itself. I have heard rumours that The Prince of Monaco bought it and it will eventually go to the Maritime Museum there. I hope this is true.

Here's 'the gang' paying homage to such an amazing boat.

It's off to Italy! That's an old photo by the way as it still looks like the photo I posted up yesterday.

She's gone! Off to Turkey for a complete refit.
Hundreds of people turned out to see her lifted onto the huge cargo ship Abis Dusavik.

This former British Royal Navy mine sweeper has one hell of a history - and it's not over yet!

I heard an interview about her a couple of weeks ago and the person said that Calypso is most likely to be used as a publicity vehicle - she will create a stir wherever she goes, so ideal for drawing attention to ecological issues and the like.

I hope so, something has to be done about the amount of plastic in the seas. It's a catastrophe. Sea Shepherd are doing their thing with marine life but they just don't have the funding to do everything that's needed to be done.

I remember reading about that at the time - very sad after all the hard work put into the restoration but they are carrying on.
