Yep, fonctionnaires again the same bast**ds who stopped me flying over in April and will probably do so in November.
According to the pa of one of the Bordeaux bast**ds it only takes a few of the Bordeaux and Brest controllers to strike and whee! The whole west side goes silly.

I'll give my support to the ATC and note carefully Peake's comments. Loads of flights in and out of Bordeaux and Bergerac today. Seems Ryanair is the airline doing the cancelling because they can get away with it. Other airlines seem to be running as normal.

Why? This is not an ATC issue. It is just part of a general anti-Macron protest.

Because they're being used as a scapegoat by Ryanair for their own nefarious purposes

"We regret to advise customers that due to an air traffic control strike in France on 10th Oct, we have been forced to cancel the flights listed below..." - Ryanair.com

As Peake's quote makes clear, this is bullshit used by Ryanair to cancel 219 flights at the last minute with a dodgy excuse so they (a) save pilots hours, (b) pay no compensation to passengers, and (c) save a fortune in fuel costs.

That's a lot of seriously pissed off travellers. At a time of loss of trust in Ryanair this should be exposed for what it is. Thousands of flights are going in and out of French airports today. But these are all staying on the ground, including such French routes as Dusselford-Alicante, Wrolaw-Lisbon and Cologne-Mallorca:

Also save paying the flight crew, especially if the crew is a contract crew, and not employed direct by that thieving bastard
