I would LOVE to go up in a fighter jet - I always give the pilot a little wave as he goes over the house. I once got a wing waggle off of one, another time I nearly got buzzed off my terrace roof when I was painting the window grill, he was that low - I swear he nearly touched the TV aerial

Surely chewing gum is not advisable, he could choke :-?

I did think that, but he didn't seem to be out too long and I'm sure they wouldn't have let him do it if there was a 'major' risk. Although who would have performed the heimlich (sp?) manoeuvre I don't know.

You know these fighter pilots are a good bunch. When its sunny and they come out to play, playing chase me charley through the Dordogne valley and up over here I get very mad at them for ruining our peace and quiet, so I shout at them to F___ off.
DO you know they do every time and at speed.

There are several reasons why the pilot doesn't black out..
Firstly, training.. he's done it before and knows the techniques to counter the onset of unconsciousness.
Plus, he's flying the aeroplane.. Just as in a car, the driver's head never nods forward under braking but his passenger's always does.
The reporter looked a little bit overweight and probably unfit - this doesn't help. Bit offside of the pilot to pull 7.5g on a passenger - it's a lot if you're not used to it.
The chewing gum looks more in danger of falling out of his mouth! :D
