Let it bang all it will, just bring some rain please..................pretty please.

No doubt a month from now I will regret that wish, but right now we need some rain.

Also another warning of fires in the south of France

Yippee 15 mm of rain over night, first decent rain for weeks.
Now with the moisson finished and all of the fields cultivated I can at last burn the bonfire of this year's weeds, brambles and stuff to large for the shredder.

It's very blustery here - my pepper plants on the balcony keep getting blown over - however the wind is surprisingly warm.

Yes, it's fairly warm here at the moment ... while the wind is in the south west. But it is due to veer round to the north west, and it will be much colder here.

Only 20 Depts in yellow, http://vigilance.meteofrance.com/, but I think that anybody would say that they would rather be in yellow than violett http://www.meteofrance.gp/vigilance-antilles-guyane

Not so much flash, bang, but a really weird sky since this morning, due possibly to the effects of Ophelia, the fires in Spain and Portugal and sand from the Sahara.

The sky here was overcast and there was a pink glow everywhere. When I went out around midday, the sky became so dark that everyone drove with headlights. In fact, at one point, the sky was such a dark reddish grey that it looked quite apocalyptic ! Very dramatic and very strange.

Very little wind and fairly mild temps.

We're currently in Herault and it did rain this morning, in squally showers. Washing out drying this afternoon under overcast skies and it's been too windy to enjoy sitting out. It's incredibly dry here, our hosts say they haven't had more than the odd shower for 5 months. Everywhere looks shrivelled and burnt.
Had a yummy lunch here

37 years ago today it was wet and cold in Norfolk (and I married Fixit!)

Just as bad here except we haven't had any showers today. The local farmers with animals are now all very worried about the lack of feed.

They were forecasting rain/showers for 5 days in a row yesterday (starting today), but today only 2 days worth and starting Sunday - by which time I fully expect all promise of rain to have evaporated.

Congratulations Liz and Fixit.

And as celebration it is now raining - all over my newly laid ungrouted tiles - oh well we do need the rain.
