Missed us again here in S.W. Dordogne, we unplugged all and battened down before retiring. Seems as though Paris got it bad with hail stones as big as snooker balls.
They can keep it.

It's really stifling hot here, a good storm would be nice but no big snowballs please. :YMPRAY:

It's gone quieter here (Lot/Lot & Garonne border), not stifling......

Four nights on the trot and it is becoming a bit wearing now! It has certainly started a lot earlier this evening!

We seem to have escaped it on the north side of the Loire. It was very hot last night and I saw lots of flashes to the south at around 4am, and a few distant rumbles.
Today was very hot and heavy, and this evening there have been a few more distant rumbles but nothing worse.

The heat here is still stifling at 10pm, the wind's picking up and the clouds are really menancing. All the animals are inside and we've moved a lot of vulnerable stuff somewhere safe.

It smells like rain and the frogs are giving it laldy !

Ça y est, it started raining - just as I spoke.

Nowt but a few spits o' rain here late last night. I suspected we wouldn't get hit - as we'd put everything under cover, ever-thing!

Ditto! Not a whisper of a storm.

Seconds after I posted my last comment we had serious lightning and the thunder was so loud and close that the pressure waves could be felt in the house. Had to switch off the internet as I had no desire to lose the box! This morning it is still thick grey cloud, heavy rain showers and some more muted thunder and lightning. The light also has a really unusual yellows green tinge to it, really unusual and somewhat foreboding. Still it does mean I won't be working in the garden this morning!

Barrybois - if the clouds have an unusual yellow tinge, this often means hail...... :-s

It was a bit dull yesterday, but otherwise sunshine all the way down on drive down to Herault.
In fact my wife was hoping for a bit of rain to make it fresher on way down. It was originally forecast for Saturday night, but it was late arriving.
hey were talking about hell stones the size of cricket balls, but that was in UK. Hopefully weather in Lancashire was not too bad. I did remember to close every window etc.

We had a thunderstorm here this afternoon, typical summer storm, Odd thing is I was at other end of town in supermarket, so waited till it stopped. It was hotter when I went outside, and I don't think it rained at other end of town where my house is(unless it was very quiet or evaporated very quickly) . How local can rain showers be?

It's really hot soon in the season. A/C has been on during the cheap period and the pool has been used.

Not usual for early June - I hope it continues.

Cracking thunderstorm last night - and lashings of rain. Totally unforecast ......still put the vehicles under cover though. Shame really, 'cos my car needed a wash, but I didn't want it panel-beated, so couldn't take the risk!

Having been rather relieved about the lack of real storms here, we had a sudden very violent gust of wind on Saturday late afternoon, followed by a very heavy, haily shower.
This resulted in one of our poplars snapping off halfway down, and the loss a wonderful old wild cherry which has produced fruit (an enormous amount) only once in 17 years.

At the risk of tempting fate, we were supposed to get this storm in Cantal at about 2 pm, and then again at 6pm. I covered the car, brought in the delicate plants, and spent the afternoon waiting for it to happen. So far (18:10) nothing. However, there are dark clouds now to the south west, and the barometer is dropping. It is still about 29 degrees outside, but a breeze is starting, and it is feeling fresher. I am just hoping that we don't get those cricket-ball sized hailstones I saw on the news a couple of weeks ago.

No flash-bangs, just cool (14,5°C) and plenty of the wet stuff. The grass looks very green ....

Missed us once again, so far.
Last night from about 2 to 4 am there was a humdinger to the south, we only had 15 minutes of downpour.

Hmmmmm - the wind is getting up and the clouds are looking pretty angry, after a night of lashings of rain. Really looking forward to those gusts of 100km/h .....N O T !

Most things under cover, except hangar still waiting for the rest of it's roof. :(

From about 18:15 the temperature started to drop, and within an hour had gone from 29.4 to 20.4. The wind rose and it started to rain - a bit. There was some distant thunder, but apart from that nothing. It rained a bit overnight, but nothing more. We are promised a storm from 13:00 to 18:00 again today, so I am keeping the car covered in case.

Well the water butts are now full. Unfortunately missed the Glastonbury transmissions due to the strength of the rain.

My neighbour, who worked for Orange until recently, told me to make sure that I disconnect the livebox in the event of a threatened storm, and also if I go away for any period of time. They are very delicate flowers.
