For some years now I have received letters asking me to settle a debt which , although no details ( other than an increasing sum owed) are given , does not exist and never has! The company now sending letters is EOS Credirec. To date I have ignored the letters and intend to continue to do so. Has anybody else had experience of this?

Hello AliG

Years ago we received letters from a debt collector for a sum due on an insurance contract which we had never signed or agreed to. The amount went up and finally we received a summons.
We sent a registered letter (vital) to the insurance company enclosing copies of the documentation stating that there was no contract and no sum due. We added a copy to the CLCV (equivalent of Citizens Advice Bureau). We never heard another word from anyone again - certainly no apology from the insurance company !

If you are absolutely certain that you don't owe anyone any money and never signed any contract, you have nothing to fear.

One of our knowledgeable legal eagles here might be able to suggest something you could do.

At no point have we been given any information relating to this 'debt' nor have I requested it. My inclination is to continue to not respond.

That's what I would do too.
