This is also a language question.
I'm corresponding with a french person about our female cat, and I don't know whether to call her a chat or a chatte.
I've looked up chatte on Linguée :ymblushing: and it seems that it's best to call both gendres 'chats'.

As in English as well of course. Stroking a pussy can have different meanings depending on the context - a la Mrs. Slocombe who was forever tending to her pussy when she got home.
