We stupidly forgot to disconnect the coax cable(s) (twin HD) last week just as the most amazing storm passed by. Everything else possible had been unplugged, but we'd got complacent with the TV having relocated the dish to a lower position. Sadly, after a snick outside the house where the cable comes through the wall (possibly touching some galvanised guttering), our HD Humax is playing up. :ymblushing:

It's odd, because it just glitches for the first 5/10 minutes on a channel, then is fine. We'll borrow someone else's to test whether it's the cables, LND or freesat itself (hope not, that's the expensive bit), but if it was truely damaged, why would it stop glitching after a while? Then, if you change channel, the glitches recommence, then it settles down. Worse on an HD channel.

Any ideas?

Sounds more like the dish/LNB's has moved slightly. Just test your box on another dish, that you know is good.

Just like to remind those in the south west that Parafoudres are obligatory for overhead cables both power and phone that serve the property, it helps to stop lightning from frying your equipment

Also if you use this link for the satellite feed/s, it again will help in avoiding the smell of fried electrical equipment
