Has anyone built a glass brick wall using the plastic spacer system?

What remains unclear is when you snap off the exterior squares, going by the instructions after the mortar has hardened but then what about the holes it leaves! On-line tips seem to neglect this important snippet.

Yes but I think my plastic spacers may have been different to yours - nothing to snap off.

In the hope that there are similarities, once everything has set the glass wall is grouted just like tiles with a flexible grout - to allow for differential expansion of the tiles, spacers and any other walls.

Grouting not needed with this mortar... I guess I will snap them after assembly and smooth off.

I found this system was most commonly described on the web before I bought and did notice a couple of other systems which were very expensive by comparison. It was only while playing around with them that this problem occured to me and looking back at all the videos/descriptions... no-one mentioned removing the caps. All it says on the packet is that you twist and snap them off... oh well stuck with what I have so have to sort it out on the day.

I misunderstood instructions, it does need grouting. I read the Dutch and I have a tendency to ignore the prefix that reverses the meaning :ymblushing:

It has proven much harder than I expected to keep everything lined up but nearly complete, just 9 more bricks to lay tomorrow. Pleased with appearance too. Much harder to lay than normal bricks.

At least you read the instructions, more than someone I know does ;) :)

Good luck for the final 9.
