Hi

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me :YMPRAY:

We have removed loads of ivy from the walls of our renovation project, the walls are plastered and fairly smooth. We have been left with all the brown suckers/tendrils (sorry not sure what they are called). I have finally found a method of removing them, lots of water and a wire brush, but it's blinking hard going. Any ideas for a quicker and easier method?

Just to let you know what I've tried that didn't work.........jetwash, scraper, sanding.

Have you tried an electric drill with a wire brush or wire cup brush, or a small angle grinder with an abrasive disc, lightly used

Thanks Peake

OH tried that, they do get it off, but no quicker than doing it by hand and they tended to polish the surface too :(

Polystyrene, petrol and benzene. The latter available from good chemistry labs.

Could you use a blow torch and a wire brush? As ivy is basically wood?

If you are going to cover the walls again, it wouldn't matter if there were a few scorch marks.
