I would recommend to everyone that they read the excellent "All out war" by Tim Shipman. He is the political editor of the Sunday Tiimes, and has clearly an encyclopaedic knowledge of this subject. It is incredibly thorough and insightful and gives the history of Brexit from the start of the campaigns through to almost now. Some politicians emerge from it in much the way you would expect. Others appear to have been governed by far nobler motives than they are given credit for. If I have a criticism, it could do with a dramatis personae to refer to, as I found it difficult to remember the enormous cast of characters. However, even if you just stay with the household names, you will learn a lot. It altered some of my preconceptions, and re-inforced others.
