However if you look at a number of court cases (Gerrard, Terry) maybe he got the impression footie stars are above the law?

If hes found guilty, hang him out to dry, maximum fine (I'm sure that he would not miss the odd hundred thousand), and the time he would have spent in prison for the offence, spent with the police and fire service picking up the bits and pieces after bad RTA's

Depends which team the judge supports on what his sentencing will be I suppose. If it was down to me he'd be locked up and the key thrown away! I have no time or sympathy for anyone who gets done for drink driving - drink and drive and you are a complete idiot. I've lost 2 dear cousins to drink drivers and was myself involved in a fatal crash due to the demon drink. In all cases the guilty driver got let off with a heavy fine, suspension and a ticking off! Doesn't matter that they deliberately got behind the wheel of a potentially lethal weapon and killed innocent people. Makes my blood boil.
